Morocco: A Land of Promise, Peace and Long-standing History

Geographically located at the crossroads between North Africa and Europe, Morocco has always been an arena for various cultural and political influences and up until the discovery of the Americas, it was considered as the farthest land of the setting sun. Morocco's location explains to a large extent its independence since times immemorial. Being endowed: the Atlas mountains, the Sahara and the Mediterranean, and Atlantic oceans, Morocco managed to resist foreign occupation for centuries and was the latest North African country to fall under colonial rule.

  • With the recognition of Morocco's independence in 1956,the country embarked upon a long but steady process of democratization and social and economic development.
Launched under the leadership of the late his Majesty the King Mohammed V, the process was consolidated under the late his Majesty the King Hassan II, and is coming to full maturity with the coming into power of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI.
However, democratic reform do not necessarily translate into immediate social and economic achievements, the personal commitment of His Majesty the King to the improvement of the living conditions of the Moroccan people in terms of living standards, Education,Healtcare,etc...and the strengthening of the Economic competitiveness needs back-up from unofficial channels such as charity association.

  • The Moroccan Charity Association of New York is proud to be part of this effort. With the help of our members we envision to help out all Moroccans home and abroad. Can we assert that our country is beautiful when we know for a fact that less fortunate children are not being provided with proper schooling? It's especially harder for the young girls to obtain an education our objective is to raise enough money for the purchase of school supplies to last one year for the largest possible number of children between the age of 7 through 12.

  • We also intend, over time,to raise funds for the establishment of a "House of Morocco" in the New York area with such facilities as a library, Arabic classes for the second generation of the Moroccan community, English courses for new immigrants, a mosque,etc....

we are exerting all Moroccan Association throughout the word, to join efforts and mobilize their resources to complement, the tremendous social projects already launched by His Majesty the King to make Morocco a better place.
